From an integration model to the Kvazar workstation
A physical protection system brings several programs together. In the project for the Tenzor instrument plant, InS described how software modules interacted, while engineers used xCAD-Studio to build an application workstation. In 2008 I.V.A. delivered the tested workstation software for Kvazar.

01
Challenge
To assemble a workstation from several programs, a developer needed to know which servers each client used and what it was allowed to do. These relationships had to be described in the integration environment so they could be used when building a specific workstation.
02
Solution
In 2006 the team prepared a client–InS–client structural model and documentation for programming the core. Work on the environment covered XML descriptions of clients, server definitions, client access rights and links between the client and server parts of integration modules. In 2007 the work took two directions: InS for Linux and RTOS32, and workstations built with xCAD-Studio.
03
Outcome
In 2008 the team specified the Kvazar workstation, prepared the developer and user installation packages, designed the workstation in xCAD-Studio and produced its own installer. The customer accepted all four stages. The workstation software passed the agreed tests.
